‘Solway’ means ‘muddy crossing’ in the language of the Vikings. They’d call it ‘mucky’ today because the shore collects a surprising amount of rubbish.
Meet on the coast road beside the Shore Gate House B&B at the east end of the village. Please park on the inland side of the coast road being careful not to block driveways.
All equipment provided but wellies and waterproofs advisable. All ages are welcome but young people under the age of 16 years need to be supervised by an adult.
