Be the solution to pollution in the Allonby Bay Marine Conservation Zone. The Bay is noted for its mussel beds and reefs but the beach is littered by floating rubbish. You name it, you’ll find it: cigarette lighters, celebration balloons, spent shotgun cartridges, fish boxes off trawlers, oil canisters, rope, cans, bottles and broken toys. In two hours you can make a visible difference to this long, curving beach and send the rubbish for recycling.
Meet/park beside the minor road leading to Crosscanonby village from the B5300 coast road, signposted ‘Mile Fortlet 21′ one mile north of Maryport.
All equipment provided but wellies and waterproofs advisable.
