The Fairhaven CoastalCare volunteers meet every Wednesday morning at 10 am, to care for the beach between Fairhaven Lake and the Beach Terrace Café at St Annes-on-the-sea.
The volunteers are a friendly and welcoming group, who head onto the foreshore and into the dunes to pick litter and ensure residents, visitors and marine life can enjoy this stretch of coast. New volunteers are always welcome and the group head to the Beach Terrace Café for a well deserved cuppa after each clean.
The group currently meet at Fairhaven Road Car Park (FY8 1NW) due to the sea defence works by Fairhaven Lake.
All equipment is provided (gloves, vest, hoops and pickers) and we just ask you wear stout footwear (i.e. not sandals or pumps). Everyone is welcome, we just ask that children under 18 are accompanied by an adult.
Please note that due to the current sea defence works, the Fairhaven group is unable to take on any groups of 5 or more additional volunteers at the moment. If your team would like to join a local beach clean, please contact Emily.email@example.com to find an alternative location.
Please be aware that the beach clean may be called off at short notice in very bad weather conditions.
