The Friends of the Estuary meet every Monday at 10.15 am at the new Lifeboat Station in Lytham to clean the beach between Lytham Quays and Granny’s Bay. These volunteers have been working since 2008 to ensure the area is a clean, safe and welcoming environment for birds, marine life, animals, residents and visitors.
After litter picking for an hour or so, the group head to Lowther Pavilion café for a drink and a natter.
If you would like to come along, please contact the group in advance to ensure there is enough equipment available. To find out more information visit their website http://www.friends-of-the-estuary.co.uk/
All equipment is provided; we just ask you wear stout footwear (i.e. not sandals or pumps) and that children under 18 are accompanied by an adult.
Please be aware that the beach clean may be called off at short notice in very bad weather conditions.
